Headed to Keesler.

I am about to leave for Biloxi again.
Tomorrow morning at 7:30 I will have my "baseline ultrasound".
Basically what they are looking for is cysts or anything else that might prevent us from starting the cycle.
So please, pray that we will get the all clear!
I can't believe we are officially starting this cycle!!!!!!!!
Time really does fly by.

Feel free to call me today/tonight I will be hanging out in my hotel room.
Love you guys!

Blast from the past.

Tonight was great.
I talked with the very best friend I ever had.
We have kept in contact over the years on and off but now we are officially on again.
It's crazy how much time can go by and then its like you just pick right back up where you left off.
I am looking forward to having her back in my life, hopefully permanently this time!
Here is a picture of us at 16!

Back from Biloxi.

Ryan and I drove down to Biloxi on Sunday night and stayed at Keesler Air Force Base.
He had never been there and the hotel on post is very cheap so we headed that way.
After giving him the tour of the base, Ryan promptly confirmed his plans to try to join the Air Force after his commitment to the Army is up.
But don't worry that's not for six more years.
Anyway, Ryan had to see our doc in Mobile yesterday morning so we got up and headed from B to M.
While we were there I cornered one of the nurses and started grilling her about cysts and what would happen if I had one.
Because I have been having sharp pains in my right side very similar to the ones I have when I have a cyst.
She said that if I had one on Friday when we do my baseline ultrasound then we would increase my medicine to try to get rid of it but my cycle could be canceled.
I explained that if my cycle was canceled my heart would break and she decided to do an ultrasound right then.
I prayed my butt off while I was waiting for her to get started and THANK GOD! there were no cysts.
So I have no idea what it causing the pain but I do know as of now we are still on!

God is good!

Things making me happy right now :)

1. My hubby being home on a Friday day. He has been running errands with me.
And he took me to Milky Moo's for a yummy lunch!

2. My Holy dirt!

My good friend Kari gave me some of her blessed dirt to take with me when we do IVF.
It's really cool, and I am super excited.
It's nice to have something tangible to remind me who is in control.
Here is a picture of Santuario de Chimayo where she got the dirt!

3. The anniversary gift we got in the mail from Robin!

The one down side of camping was that we never had coffee in the mornings.
Well, TADA! Problem solved!

4. I wrapped Clara's birthday present today and the wrapping just makes me happy.

I felt like a professional wrapper when I was all done it looked so cute :)

5. One week from today I will have my first ultrasound and this IVF cycle will officially be underway!

Let go and let God!

I absolutely LOVE that!
I was just reading a fellow bloggers words of wisdom and she used that quote.
It really hit a chord with me.
It's so crazy how one little saying can open your eyes.

I will probably write more about this.
But for now I am going to go do some thinking and cookie baking!
Happy Thursday everyone!
Love you!

Oh and I changed my blog so now anyone can leave me a comment without being a member.
(This means you grandma and anyone else who wants to)!

Okay I am done with cookiepolooza!
Here is the finished product:

It's a gift for Ryan's instructor pilot since Ryan is moving on to a new one now.
He really liked Pedro, and Pedro really liked cookies and saying funny things.
So I made three different kinds of cookies and printed a list of Ryan's favorite Pedro one liners and VOILA!

I got my book in the mail!

So when I went to the embryology class at my doctors office in Mobile.
The embryologist leading the class was using a textbook for visual reference.
Because I am me I of course wrote down the name of the book so I could find a copy.

Ryan and I will be having a procedure called "ICSI" or Intra Cytaplasmic Sperm Injection.
This is a little different from the normal IVF protocal.
Normally, one egg is placed in a medium and 75,000 sperm are dropped in with the egg.
Instead, we are having a single sperm injected into each egg.
Here is the page from my new book that shows the process.

I know I am probably losing my followers posting stuff like this.
But hey it's my blog and I'll obsess if I want to.
And besides I think science is cool.
I want to share every picture in the book but I will spare you... for now.
Once we get to retrieval and (PLEASE GOD) have some embryos fertilized.
I will show pictures of what they look like.
Okay love everyone!

We have decided to try IVF! Updated 5/15

Ryan and I have decided that there is no better time than the present.
In light of the disappointing conversations with the clinic in Hawaii; we have decided to try a round of IVF with our clinic here.
It is more expensive but at the end of the day, we trust these doctors and feel they have our best interest in mind.
With that being said I am going to post a calendar of sorts for you guys.
If this is TMI just disregard :)

May 7: Lab work for the both of us.

May 10 (today): Met with Dr. and received 9 (!!!) prescriptions.
Received MMR immunization since mine does not show up in testing.
I am staying the night here in Biloxi, MS.

May 11: Embryology class, meeting with financial director in Mobile, AL.

May 14th: Both of start a precautionary round of antibiotics.
I start Lupron (15 units every morning)

May 18th: Uterine sounding in Mobile, AL
This was done on May 11th when I was in the office. I love that they saved me a trip to Mobile!

May 28th: First ultrasound & bloodwork visit for the cycle in Dothan, AL.
Lower my dosage of Lupron down to 10 units every morning and await further instruction.
This is an important day because if they find cysts on my ultrasound the IVF will be canceled :(
Please keep us in your thoughts today!!
June 8/9/10th: Egg retrieval
Depending on how my body reacts to the stimulation drugs my retrieval will be sometime the week of the 7th. As we get closer I will let you guys know the exact date!
This same day the embryologist will use a procedure called "ICSI" Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection to place a single sperm inside each egg. She will call us the following day to let us know how many eggs were successfully fertilized.

We will get a call everyday from the embryologist  to let us know how our fertilized eggs are dping. Each egg will get a grade from 1-5 (5 being the best). We want 4's & 5's!!
June 11/12/13/14/15th: Implanting fertilized embryos if all goes well :)

There will be a lot more ultrasounds but those are play by ear sort of things so I will keep everyone posted.

PLEASE keep us in your prayers.
Hopefully our time has finally come :)
