I got a job!

That's right, I am now (well, as of 1 August) an employed woman.
As some of you know, my goal in life is to be an advisor at a university.
I want to help people complete their educational goals because I know how difficult it can be.
I think education is extremely important and I think it will continue to grow in importance as more jobs leave our country.
That is why I am working towards my Master's in Educational Administration.
However, a couple of months ago I saw a job posted at the University of Phoenix for an Enrollment Advisor.
So I applied, and now two months later I got an offer.
I think this will be a really great job for me.
They have locations all over the country so I think transferring will be possible.
Plus, there is a lot of room for advancement and I can get lots of experience.
So I think it is safe to say you may see me wearing this logo.

Ryan and I took a walk around the neighborhood I will be working in this past weekend.
It is in Honolulu right by the water and the building surrounding it are beautiful.
There are tons of cute coffee shops and restaurants.
Here is the building I will work in.

My office will be on the 20th floor.

Birthday stuff

I have had a pretty great birthday this year.
Ryan took me out to dinner last night at the Kona Brewing Company.
The food was so-so but the beer was very yummy.
It was nice to get out and try something new.

This morning I met my friend Tracee for a Starbucks date.
Sorry no picture but good times were had.

I have been sucked into my family tree since Mom and Dad H. bought me a year subscription to ancestry.com
I feel like a detective, it's so cool.

Here is a picture of the purse and sunglass case Ryan got me this year.

About five minutes ago, the doorbell rang and this was sitting there.

Riki and Brett sent me these beautiful flowers.
The pictures don't do them justice but they are awesome.

The couch from Waikoloa.

One of the funniest things that happened while we were on our trip to the big island was a couch.
We were driving down the highway in the middle of nowhere and off in the distance we see a couch sitting on a hill.
We decided that the next time we drove that way we were going to hike out to see it.
So a couple of days later we did.
It turns out that it looked a lot closer to the road than it was, but we finally made it.
We took some "family" pics on it.
We decided that it will be our first album cover if we ever decide to form a band.

I'm back from the Big Island!

I spent that past week in Waikoloa, Hawaii.
Our church puts on a VBS there once every summer.
I volunteered to be the craft lady this year.
It was a lot of fun and I loved the island.
Here are some of my pics.

I will share more as I collect them from the others.
